Summertime knitting or crocheting can be daunting; summer fibers behave so differently from wool, and finding patterns for warm-weather wear can be difficult. But we're here to help! We've collected dozens of our favorite summer knitting and crochet patterns, and organized them into tidy categories for you to peruse.
Please note: Links to collections in this post will navigate to Ravelry.
Option 1: Yarn First
Have you found one of our summer yarns that you just love, but don't know what to make with it? Here are collections of patterns we recommend organized by substrate:
-
Cascade Anchor Bay: This DK-weight blend of superwash merino and cotton is great for year-round wear, and perfectly soft for baby knits. Check out our solid colors here, and hand-dyed options here.
-
Cascade Botanika: Botanika is a naturally-dyed sport weight cotton. Find it in our store here.
-
Juniper Moon Farms Bud: New to our store! Bud is a bulky boucle bombshell made from 100% cotton. Check out its gorgeous array of colors.
-
Gepard Cotton Waves: Cotton Waves went viral last summer, and for good reason! It's got a very unique texture that knits up beautifully.
- Gepard Curly Cotton: Brand new from Gepard, this boucle is stunningly soft.
-
Cascade Hampton: A perennial classic, this blend of cotton and linen makes beautiful basics. Check out our color range here.
-
Gepard Hor Silke: Another stunner from Gepard! Hor Silke is a sport-weight linen/silk chainette that makes stunning luxurious fabrics.
-
Noro Kakigori: Kakigori is self-striping, but in a more subtle way than most Noro substrates. This DK cotton/silk/viscose/PA blend is so fun to make with.
-
Noro Kompeito: Kompeito is similar to Kakigori, but has more of a tweed effect and is a blend of cotton, silk, and nylon.
-
Laines du Nord Luxury Silk: Don't tell anyone but Luxury Silk is my favorite new yarn of the season! It's a 100% silk tape that is luxurious but approachable to the touch, and works up so beautifully. We've got 13 gorgeous colors in stock.
-
Berroco Modern Cotton: Modern Cotton is super wearable, thanks to its blend of pima cotton and rayon. It's soft on the hands and extremely comfortable.
-
Cascade Nifty Cotton: Nifty cotton is a true workhorse! While it can be made into beautiful garments and accessories, this truly shines as a dishcloth yarn. We've got it in solids and speckles.
-
Cascade Noble Cotton: Noble cotton may seem very similar to Nifty, but has some key differences. It's made of mercerized cotton, which has a bit of a sheen to it and does not pill. Mercerized cotton is my personal favorite version of cotton! Check it out here.
- Noro Ohajiki: Oh my goodness, Ohajiki is so lovely. It's mostly summer fibers but has a bit of wool, which adds lightness and memory to your knits.
- Noro Sonata: This yarn is indescribably lovely! It's a sport weight blend of cotton, viscose, silk and polyamide that comes in solid and striping colors.
