What can I do with my ribbon collection?

What can I do with my ribbon collection?

We are so excited to launch our mystery Ribbon + Trim bundle subscriptions! Each month we will curate a new bundle of unique and beautiful ribbons and trims - each measuring 1.5 yards - for subscribers. Check out the product here

If you'd like to learn more about our subscriptions, check out this blog post. But if you'd like to know what you can make with your ribbon collection, you're already in the right spot! Here are a few ideas from the Harmony team:

  • Trims can make an awesome adornment on accessories; either handmade or store bought. Harmony's own Erin added trim to her Baggu Duck Canvas Bag, pictured below.

  • We love using bits of ribbon as a tag for homemade projects. There's no cuter way to mark the center back of your latest skirt or pair of pants.
  • A very popular use for ribbons among the Harmony crew is tying them on to bags. Whether it's marking your luggage for easy pickup at the airport, or adorning your handbag with a bow, there are so many ways to make your favorite ribbon an accessory.
  • There's not much cuter than a ribbon tied around your neck, either under a collar or as a choker. Edie (pictured on the left) and Shauna (on the right) love adding a ribbon to their collar!

  • Home decor! A ribbon can turn any vase into something special. You could also make your own curtain tieback, hang it with a garland or two, or use it in seasonal decor.
  • Rachel has ribbons adorning the art in her office!

  • Of course there is always the classic option of using ribbons to package gifts. A special vintage ribbon can make any wrapping job look beautiful.
  • Janell uses trim to update her door wreath each season!

  • You can also use trims to add a little personality your clothes! It's very easy to sew trim onto hand-made or store-bought clothing. Erin recommends sewing trim "around the hem of a skirt, as a cute detail on a patch pocket, on the cuff of pants or shirt, or down a pant leg." Pictured below is Mel, who sewed vintage trim onto the straps and hem of a dress.

  • Finally, we love using trim as party decor! Shauna recommends tying bows around candle holders or laps, and using ribbons as garlands or table decor for any kind of gathering.

The more you use trim, the more uses you'll come up with! We dearly hope that you enjoy our Mystery Subscription Ribbon + Trim Bundles.
