Made With Harmony: Shauna's Arthur Pants

Here at Harmony, we love a good apparel sewing project.  Behold! Shauna’s gorgeous Arthur Pants in our Juniper Linen.

The Linen is part of our deadstock collection, sourced from a sustainable supplier in the U.S.  Shauna used 3 yards and reported that it washed up well with no fading or bleeding and minimal shrinkage.

Shauna was drawn to this gorgeous deadstock linen, and the weight (6oz) dictated a bottom weight or jacket pattern.  She landed on one of her “tried and true” patterns, the Arthur Pants from Sew Liberated.

By nature, these pants are oversized, so Shauna likes to size down.  She recommends paying close attention to the drape of your fabric and the amount of ease written into the pattern.  She made a size 12 and modified the fit by lowering the rise by 2 inches, as the waist sits too high for her liking. The pattern comes together quickly and features strong, beautiful seams along with just the right amount of dramatic volume.

Other patterns that we recommend for this fabric are the Friday Pattern Company Beachcomber Jacket, and the Sew House 7 Free Range Slacks
