As someone who is working on becoming a more confident quilter, a baby quilt feels like an approachable place to start. I went looking for something simple, but also something not just made up of squares and rectangles. That's when I stumbled across the free Giant Star Baby Quilt Pattern from Polkadot Chair. It was a great intro to half square triangles on a scale that felt doable and finishable!
For my fabric, I chose some Fableism Sun Stripes. We have sold out of most of that line, but any of our woven stripes would be a great substitute. Here are a few of my favorites for this pattern:
Kaffe Woven Stripe / Exotic Stripe / Denim
Hickory Creek Woven Stripe / Spruce
If stripes aren't your thing, it would also be so fun to sew a version using different colors of Ruby Star Society's Starry.
No matter what you chose, this is such a quick and satisfying quilt project - the perfect beginner quilt!
