Arvo Dress / PDF Pattern

$ 10.00

This is a digital PDF sewing pattern, not a physical product.

The Arvo Dress is made for warm city afternoons, market mornings and long lunches that turn into sunset drinks. Inspired by the iconic tulip silhouette popularised by Gorman dresses, the Arvo Dress reimagines that sculptural shape into an easy, everyday piece designed for effortless wear.

Featuring a softly sculpted tulip shape, practical pockets and an easy pull-over-the-head design, it’s the kind of dress you throw on and somehow feel instantly cooler in. The modern, higher-cut neckline sits between a classic crew neck and a boat neck, balancing the sculptural silhouette with an effortless feel.

Choose between two views: a clean sleeveless finish for hot summer days or simple relaxed sleeves for year-round wear. Inspired by inner-city Sydney summers, the Arvo Dress feels equally at home wandering through weekend markets with flowers tucked under your arm, grabbing an iced coffee in sneakers, or meeting friends for brunch in the afternoon sun.

Fabric suggestions: The Arvo Dress is designed to be made in light/medium weight woven fabrics. We found that cotton and linen blends work best. Designed to use what you have on hand, the Arvo Dress also lends itself well to thrifted and repurposed fabrics. If you're using a heavier weight fabric, be mindful of the added bulk at the seams where the tulip panel meets the front and back dress pieces. The gathering will also be more prominent in heavier weight fabrics and “stick out” more than drape.

Use: The Arvo Dress Pattern is intended for personal use only, and cannot be used for profit or resale of finished garments unless given written permission from Romy-Krystal Cutler (Sewlike). ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Hi, I'm Romy-Krystal!

Born and raised in sunny Sydney, I'm a color-loving maker. I started sewing over a decade ago, teaching myself through countless Google searches, YouTube marathons, and a healthy dose of trial and error. About five years ago, I dove headfirst into pattern drafting, eventually taking a formal course to bring my physical patterns into the digital world with Adobe Illustrator.

I design every pattern myself—from sketch to sample to instructions and even the YouTube tutorials. It’s a one-woman show powered by passion (or obsession).

My style? Think bold color, playful patchwork, and modern design with a high-end feel. I believe sewing should be fun, inclusive, and full of personality. When I’m not working on patterns you’ll find me supporting other’s in the sewing community.

Whether you’re just getting started or you're here for the color and creativity, you’re so welcome. I’m glad you’re here—stay a while!
