The Affogato Dress is a comfortable, drop-shouldered dress with fun details like extra puffy sleeves, a curved waistline, and pintucks in the skirt! The Affogato is a pullover style dress designed for every season and any budget.
The dress is designed to have lots of ease. Many folks prefer to size down by one size for a closer fit. If you do not want lots of ease, feel free to size down. Just make sure the dress still fits over your head or you may need to add a closure of your choice. This project is well-suited to the adventurous beginner who wants to make a garment that looks impressive but is fairly simple to construct. It is the perfect opportunity to learn how to install side seam pockets and pintucks.
Finally, the dress comes with two skirt length options – mini or midi. The mini skirt hits just at the knee on a 5' 8" individual, while the midi skirt falls a few inches below the knee. If you choose to forego the pintucks, note that your finished dress will be 2 ¾” (7 cm) longer than the finished garment measurements on page 6.

Fabric suggestions: In warm summers, it is best sewn in a mid-weight linen or a cotton poplin. Make it fancy by sewing it in a sheer organza layered with a slip underneath! In colder months, you might prefer it in a corduroy, flannel, or velvet.
