American knitters are coming together in solidarity against the actions of ICE. Many of us have adopted a resistance symbol from 1940s Norway - the red tassel hat, or "nisselue." Proceeds from the pattern go to immigrant aid networks. We encourage knitters to also donate to mutual aid and legal defense funds if possible, as we are. To learn more about the Norwegian resistance, start here. Here is a collection of red yarns that will work for the Melt the ICE hat pattern, which calls for worsted, DK, or fingering weight yarn.
